Review and Haul: iHerb | Real Techniques Brushes and E.L.F Cosmetics
Hello lovelies!
It's time for a haul from iHerb! This is my first time purchasing from iHerb so I'll also do a quick review for you guys. As well, I have a iHerb discount code/coupon for up to $10. Let's get started~
Order date: 15th of June
Arrival date: 22nd of June
Discount code for up to $10+: Enter "WWF997" at the checkout
Everything is packaged neatly in a medium sized cardboard box! There is an inflated iHerb plastic bubble (?) to help protected the products during the shipping journey.
Received free measuring cups along with the order!
ORDERED PRODUCTS:
Real Techniques Blush Brush
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
Real Techniques Setting Brush
Real Techniques Sculpting Brush
E.L.F Studio Angled Contour Brush
E.L.F Studio Eyebrow Kit in Dark
The Real Techniques and E.L.F brushes came in their original packaging and the E.L.F Eyebrow Kit came with bubble wrap. I assume because there is powder and it is prone to cracking during transit.
Real Technique brushes in Australia are extremely expensive but luckily we can get them on iHerb. And even with Priceline 3 for 2 deals, it is still way cheaper to get Real Techniques on iHerb. So for my Australian readers, do check out iHerb for Real Techniques and E.L.F!
I purchased the E.L.F Angled Contour brush because I was looking for a nose contour brush. Reviews on iHerb said they used this for nose contour so I grabbed it. But looking at it up close... I'm worried. The angle is extremely flat and seems too big for nose contour... However I will have to play around with it to make an accurate judgement.
There will be a Real Technique's brushes review when I manage to try out all the brushes.
In conclusion... iHerb.com is a splendid site to shop from. The products arrive in perfect condition and the shipping to Australia was quick (exactly 7 days). Definitely recommend!
*Remember you can use code "WWF99" for up to $10+ off your order*
So that's it for today.
See everyone later!
Until next time, annyeong~

Hello lovelies!
Today I have a fun video where I demonstrate the differences between Korean and Japanese makeup! This is inspired by the popular Korean VS American makeup videos but I've decided to do a Korean vs Japanese take on it because I like both styles. This is a BEFORE AND AFTER MAKEUP TRANSFORMATION where I show you guys my interpretation of these makeup styles.
In the beginning video, I have a base + eyebrow video which is pretty much similar in Korean and Japanese makeup (flawless base and straight eyebrows). Then we move on to the Korean makeup which focuses a lot more on the eyeliner and a natural look rather than eyeshadow play and false eyelashes like with the Japanese makeup (inspired by Himekaji/gyaru/popular teen makeup).

Review: GEO Big Grang Grang Brown Lens | The Most Comfortable Circle Lens!
My review on the GEO Big Grang Grang Brown Lens. The most comfortable circle lens I have ever tried!
Hello Lovelies~
Today I will be sharing another circle lens review! But I'm really excited to share this one with you because it managed to triumph over my Geo Eyevelyn circle lens (made with silicone hydrogel) which I absolutely adored. Let's welcome GEO Big Grang Grang Brown to my collection.
Brand: GEO Medical
Name: Big Grang Grang
Colour: Brown
Water Content: 38%
Diameter: 15mm
Base Curve: 8.7mm
Prescription? Yes
A lot of websites and blogs say that the diameter of these lenses are 14.8mm but they are really 15mm.
Comfort: 10/10
These are by far, the most comfortable circle lens I have ever tried! Which is surprising considering I have tried circle lense with a smaller diameter and also higher water content.
Once in the eyes, you can not feel them at all. And usually with circle lenses, the edges of my vision is a little blurry but these are perfectly clear. I cannot fault them at all.
I can wear these for 6 hours without feeling my eyes feeling dry and in need for eye drops (something I don't have.... but will buy soon).
Design: 9/10

How cute are these animal lens cases that are shipping with Love Shopping Holic orders?! |
The limbal ring is a dark brown rather than a black to give a more natural colour effect. The design of the lenses allow the colour to blend beautifully and seamlessly with brown eyes and is not strong or prominent enough to give you "alien" eyes.
I was reading an article on limbal rings and apparently, we unconciously judge an individuals attractiveness by how prominent their limbal rings are.... Very fascinating. The darker it is, the more white your eyes appear. Limbal rings are the sign of youth as it fades as you age.
But I tend to find circle lenses with dark limbal rings too unnatural so I prefer a design like this.
If you like a more dolly and big effect, find lenses with black limbal rings!
Enlargement: 9/10
The GEO Big Grang Grang lenses are 15mm and even without dark limbal rings, definitely enlargen your eyes. These are big but still look fine even if you are without eye makeup. Love these!
Colour: 10/10
The GEO Big Grang Grang lens range come in two colours: brown and choco. Choco is a darker brown while brown is a honey brown.
On brown eyes however, it does darken quite significantly. It isn't light enough to look artificial but isn't dark enough that you can't see the colour change.

How To: Get Clear Skin (ft. Clearasil and Korean Skincare)
Today I have a different blog post from usual. I thought it
would be a good idea to write about my tips on how to get clear skin using
skincare products everyone can incorporate into their beauty regime.
I will be featuring products from Clearasil and Korean
brands! All the products are affordable and will not break your bank.
Firstly I will talk about the most important tip anyone can
ever give you regarding your skin health.
Eating healthy: Your skin, the largest organ in your body,
reflects your internal system. If you treat yourself with good healthy food,
you end up cleansing your body from all the toxins that end up in your skin
texture. I am sure most of you battling with acne have seen the chart of acne
that shows you the correlation between problems in your body with the part of
your face acne breaks out from. It is a good way to tell you that what you put
in your body will have a powerful influence on the way you look and feel.
Sun Protection: Everyone has heard about the importance of sun protection for your overall health and skin. I believe it's an essential to always be protected from the sun due to the dangers of UVA and UVB rays. For more information, head to Clearasil's informative website on Summer Skin care!
✰QUICK SUN PROTECTION TIPS✰
✰ Ultraviolet A rays, or what I call UV Aging, is what causes premature aging because it penetrates deeper into the skin.
✰ Ultraviolet B rays are what people typically
use sunscreen/sunblock to avoid. UV Burning (these are not scientific
terms) usually only penetrate into the epidermis (outer layers) and
causes sunburn.
✰ Sun Protection Factor (SPF) mainly refers to protection from UVB rays.
✰ Broad Spectrum Protection refers to protection from both UVA and UVB rays.
✰ Did you know the PA+ PA++ PA+++ and so forth
rating system is not approved by the FDA? So I always use sunscreen that
says Broad Spectrum Protection. However this is the system used in
Japan/Korea commonly. Each country have different standards for their
different climates. Just like how the British Standard for sunglasses is
lower than the Australian/NZ standard because our sun is more harsh..
Your sunglasses should be labelled with the Australian/New Zealand
standard AS/NZS 1067:2003. If they don't they are only fashion
spectacles.
✰ Always wear sun protection if you are outside
for longer than 10 minutes. Doesn't matter if it's cloudy or if it's
winter! UVA rays are powerful enough to penetrate through glass in your
office or home.
✰ A lot of people have asked this before and
it's the question of... when do I apply sun protection? Before or after
makeup? I personally apply it after moisturiser and when it has already
dried. Just so I can avoid any chemical mixing that may minimise sun
protection.
✰ Sun Block acts to block out the sun rays from
penetrating into the skin. So typically people associate sun block as
thick and gives a white cast.
✰ Sun Screen acts as a screen and deflects sun rays, though it is not 100% successful so some still penetrate through
✰ Remember to apply enough sun protection. Two
milligrams of sunscreen per square centimeter of skin is what usually
testers for sun protection use. I talk more about this in the bottom of
the post.
✰ Always apply sun protection throughout the day! It does not stay effective for long
Medication: There are prescriptions available from your dermatologist in severe cases.
I understand there
are different cases with different individuals so I am not saying that following
these steps will absolutely without a doubt give you clear skin. However for
the majority who are looking for skincare tips and tricks to maintain healthy
better skin, these are the products you can look into.
Clicking on the bolded product name will bring you to my separate review.
Clicking on the bolded product name will bring you to my separate review.
Cleanser:
The first step in the skincare routine is facial washing! Cleansing is
important to remove the pollutants, makeup and bacteria that accumulated
throughout the day. It is especially important to remove makeup thoroughly
before you go to bed each night because makeup that stays on your face end up
enlarging your pores and stretching your skin, with a loss of elasticity
imminent.
Here I am featuring Clearasil’s Ultra Rapid Action Gel Wash. This
Clearasil has been on the market for a long time now and is an affordable product to try! Gel cleansers are a great choice for combination skin as it is designed to remove excess surface oils, but any skin type can use it. Check out Clearasil's Skin Care guide which can help personalise your daily routine. Cream cleansers might be more beneficial for individuals which very dry skin.
The Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Gel Wash works fast due to salicylic acid which is a pimple fighting ingredient. This product is also dermatologist recommended, meaning it was tested in the laboratory. The best thing is that there is no alcohol in this product!

Toner:
Toner is the most debated product out of the simple
cleansing, toning, moisturising routine. Some people swear by toners while
others argue the benefits. I personally have lived with and without toner,
trying to see if there is a visible difference in my skin if I did or did not
use it.
The answer: Yes there was a difference. And it had to do
with the hydration level. I found that using toner helped promote moisture in my
skin. However this will be a different story if you choose to use astringent
which is heavily alcohol based and mainly for refining pores.
Moisturisation is key in maintaining healthy clear skin as
it keeps the skin from drying and producing more oil in order to balance skin
texture. More oil production can lead to blocked which
eventually turn into pimples and bumpy skin.
Toners also work to remove the left over cleanser residue and balances your skin pH.
Recommendation: Etude House Wonderpore Freshener Toner (click for review)
Toners also work to remove the left over cleanser residue and balances your skin pH.
I have been using Etude House’s Wonderpore Freshener for almost a year
now and really like it as a gentle toner. It did not break me out even though
my skin is sensitive to new products.
Note: Toners are sometimes called ‘lotions’ in the Chinese,
Korean and Japanese beauty industry.
Serum:
Serum is not part of the basic skincare routine but I
believe is a good product to incorporate into your daily beauty regime. Serums contains high concentrations of skin beneficial ingredients and
penetrates deeper into the skin for a more effective result. Serums have a heavier texture compared to ampoules or essences, and are formulated to target specialised areas.
This is especially good if you have a certain skin concern
as there are a numerous amount of serums on the market that cater to many
individuals.
Recommendation: It's Skin Power 10 Formula LI Effector
Recommendation: It's Skin Power 10 Formula LI Effector
My current concern mainly on facial and acne scarring so I
have been using It’s Skin Power 10 Formula LI Effector which is an ampoule, but is similar to serums.
Moisturiser:
I mentioned why moisturisation is important in the Toner
segment. It is extremely important for you to moisturise even if you feel like
your skin does not need it. Keep your skin supple and you will be rewarded.
Recommendation: Skinfood Royal Honey Hydro Cream
This is a hydrating treatment cream with royal honey and royal jelly extracts to get you a moisturised and translucent complexion!
Extra treatments
Exfoliation:
Important for scrubbing away the dead skin cells that
accumulate daily. Regularly dead skin cells make your skin appear dull and can lead to blocked pores. It also
helps with fast product absorption.
Recommendation: Skinfood Black Sugar Wash Off Mask
Clay/mud masks:
Draws up the impurities from your pores for deep cleansing! Best used after steaming your face with a hot towel or steam machine. Also, by extracting excess surface oils on the skin, pores are minimised.
Spot treatments:
When you have stubborn spots you need to go quickly, whether
it is for an important event or in general, spot treatments are amazing at
targeting the site directly and drying up the acne to heal quickly.
Dual spot treatments that are both makeup and skincare can
be a lifesaver at times.
Pores need to be kept clean in order for skin to be clear of acne. This fast absorbing cream penetrates deep into the pore removing bacteria while acting as a cover up. Fast absorbing products are great for busy people as it does not leave an unsightly residue.
So there you have my simple guide to clear healthy skin. Please use this guide with discretion.
